Can I just order online? Do you have a checkout?
No. Not yet, and possibly not ever, and that is fine. We are taking pre-orders by phone and in person only — call (773) 321-8181 or stop by the Garage For Jesus in Moscow, Idaho. There is a pre-order list on this website, but it does not take money. We are still praying about the whole thing, and we would rather be upfront about that than take a card payment for a bag we cannot yet ship. Also: the website would be a lot less funny with a checkout button on it.
Why are you taking pre-orders instead of just selling?
Because the licensing, the labels, the packaging, the prices and the partner paperwork are all still being worked out, and because a pre-order costs you nothing if we get it wrong. We are also, if we are being honest, still praying about whether the nonprofit structure is right, where the packaging should come from, and whether Idaho is really the right place to do this. Pre-orders let us find out who actually wants the raisins before we buy twelve thousand of them.
Wait — Jesus is really in Moscow, Idaho?
He is reported to be in Moscow, Idaho, and our team has never met a day when he wasn't at the hardware store, the farmers market, or the coffee shop with the good pastries. We do not claim to have spoken with him recently, though we have spoken near him several times, and he nods. Also he is in other places. The early church had a very flexible travel policy and we intend to honor it.
Is JESUS IS NUTS a real nonprofit?
Yes — 100% nonprofit, and we mean the legal kind, not the "we'll get to it" kind. We operate under a 501(c)(3) with a snack trade-or-business side that stays capped and is separately accounted for. Every dollar above direct costs funds food access, partner projects, and grocery distributions. Full financial detail is published on the Partners page because we have nothing to hide and also because auditors love us.
Why do you remove all the air?
Because oxygen is the enemy of crispness and shelf life. We weigh the lot, pull the air out, flush with nitrogen where the nut oils need protecting, seal it, and label it correctly. It is not mystical. It is just good packaging. Though we do say a prayer over the vacuum sealer. Twice.
Do you cure anything? Are these miracle foods?
We do not claim to cure, heal, treat, prevent, or diagnose anything. These are ordinary dried fruits, dried vegetables and nuts with excellent sourcing, handled extremely well. Any "miracle" you experience is between you and the Man in Moscow. His number is not published. He prefers to be found.
What if I am not a believer? Can I still buy the raisins?
Yes. The door says BELIEVERS ONLY but the door is open. We will sell you raisins. We will even sell you the almonds. We are not gatekeepers, we are snack people with a theological brand. Believers get a slightly nicer sticker, that is all.
Where do you sell?
Online, at the Moscow and Coeur d'Alene farmers markets, out of the back of the garage on "Garage Saturdays", and through church fellowships, health-food co-ops, senior centers, and the KYZO Garden in Accra. There is a full breakdown on the Partners page, including where we want to sell next.
Will you sponsor my church, gym, pool, or pole dancing studio?
We sponsor church fall festivals, retirement homes, yoga studios, and any event with more than 40 people who will eat a raisin. We have a strong bias toward poolside events and hydration. Contact us and say the word and we will send a box.
What if I disagree with something here — or you got a fact wrong?
Call us. (773) 321-8181, ask for Ash. We would rather be corrected than believed. If something on this site is factually wrong, we will fix it. If you think the theology is lazy, the joke has worn thin, or the beard clause has gone one notch too far, we want to hear that too — we want to support the changes you want to see. A healthy attitude about God, and about Jesus, does not require believing us, and it certainly does not require taking our word for anything. Disagreement is not disrespect here, and it will not get you gatekept. We are snack people with a theological brand: we will sell you raisins either way. We would just like to get the facts right and the attitude healthy, and we cannot do either without being told.
